I feel like ever since I opened my heart up to trying my best to have a balanced life there have been so many signs given to me to keep on pushing. This past weekend was filled with lotsss of fun with family and friends. Safe to say I was exhausted by the time Sunday night came around! Totally worth it. Sunday specifically stuck out for me. My Aunt just went through a major life change and bought a new home. I have been with her every step of the way. Through her tears, acceptance and bravery. We have had so many memories in her home and it was hard to close that chapter. Nonetheless, we slammed that damn door and opened a new one. On Sunday, she hosted a housewarming party and it was a success! She gave a speech in the beginning, which brought everyone to tears. She said something that stood out to me, “You may never find balance fully, but you have to try. Keep pushing, it will be okay.” That really resonated with me. Watching her speak these words while standing in the middle of her new (and beautifully decorated) living room showing people that you can make it out of the bad and get to the good. The party was Flamingo themed. Not only was it totally cute, but more importantly it was a theme that was special to her heart. Flamingos have a personal memory for her but they also have a deeper meaning. Flamingos represent love and balance. HOW PERFECT. At a time when these were the two things I need. Seeking balance in every aspect of life. Coincidence? I think you guys know the answer to that 🙂
After the party dwindled down and we finished cleaning up, we had a heart to heart. We spoke about all the life changes her and I are going through and how privileged we feel to have made it to this point. I had a moment to self reflect. I realized all the things I’m chasing are because I want more. Yes, I want to achieve my goals, but I never want to feel like what I have is not enough. There is a difference. Every step I take to achieve my goals I want to remind myself of all the good I have. Whether it be the people in my life, the car I drive or the mere fact of being able to have woken up each day. We all go through changes in life that will shake us to our core. We may even at times not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. If we remember to love and try for balance we can’t help but manifest our inner Flamingo.
My Sip of the Week is a quote by the one and only Oprah Winfrey (I kind of love her)
“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”
I love this 💕 be a flamingo always
